Canadian Dressage Master Class Series
Five Fires Equestrian Centre, together with Joanne Duston, is hosting an all Canadian master class series during the 2018 season, bringing you some of the best dressage instruction in the country.
We carefully curated the clinicians we invited, looking for strong, classical European influence in their training backgrounds. All three of the clinicians listed below are on their way up and and have consistently worked with some of the top trainers in the world.
Joanne is kicking off the season with Nova Scotia native Brittany Fraser. This clinic is scheduled for May 26 and 27. Brittany is currently rated the number one dressage rider in Canada and together with her horse All In, is making waves on the international stage. You may enjoy reading more about Brittany in this Heals Down magazine article.
Joanne is bringing Brittany back in October (date to be determined). Rider spots for both clinics are full. Auditing will be available (information coming soon).
Next in the series line up, Joanne is bringing Janine Little for a three day camp at Five Fires on July 24, 25 and 26 (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). We all know how plugged-in Joanne is when it comes to identifying good clinicians. This clinician was recommended to Joanne by one of her contacts who is very knowledgeable about the international dressage scene and who is traveling inter-provincially to ride in the clinic.
A trainer who always believes in continuous learning, Janine has trained with some of the top names in the sport, including Charlotte Dujardin, Juan Matute Sr., Robert Dover, Steffen Peters, and Anky van Grunsven.
Learn more about Janine’s successful 2017 season and over all accomplishments in this Horses Daily article. There is one semi private lesson spot available for this clinic (two riders). Auditing will be available.
I’m (Carol) bringing Jaimey Irwin to Five Fires mid to late August and early November. Dates will be available soon. Rider spots are tentatively spoken for, but depending on dates there may be a few spots available. Please let me know if you’re interested in riding and I’ll keep you posted. Auditing will be available.
You may enjoy reading more about Jaimey’s and wife Tina’s impressive backgrounds in this June, 2017 Dressage Today article about them. Here’s an excerpt:
The Irwin’s training stems from the German classical system. For years, they trained with Holger Müenstermann, a classically trained German master carrying forward the methodology of Reiner Klimke, Willi Schultheis and Harry Boldt. Jaimey feels that Müenstermann has been his biggest influence in his riding and training career. “The goal of our training is to achieve a happy and healthy horse who is doing the most difficult movements with ease.”
